Being Church- ‘equipping people to Be church where they are’

Being Church involves meeting with each other in various shapes and sizes for different purposes. For us this means meeting as Pilgrims, Pioneers, SimpleChurches, Mission Communities (MC’s) and Tribes

Pilgrims

Pilgrims are 2 or 3 people journeying together through life. They meet for 1 hour each week to:

• Be Ready (read 30 chapters a week- about 5 chapters a day. Pilgrims decide what book of the Bible they are going to read that week. If it’s a short book they will read it through more than once. The aim is to hear from God through repetitive reading of scripture)
• Be Real (this involves confessing sin to each other so we can be healed)
• Be Relevant (Pray for 2 non-christian friends)

Pioneers (Planters, Preachers + Prophets):

Planters are mission partners who meet to practice ‘Truth+Dare’. Each person brings a Truth from the scriptures read that week. Then there is a Dare to put the Truth into practice! Pilgrim Pioneers also practice the Pioneer Pattern (Matt10/Luke10)

Preachers go out together to preach the gospel around the towns and villages of a city and/or county

Prophets meet together for prayer and go out together on prophetic assignments

SimpleChurches

SimpleChurches are usually between 5-12 people, are intentionally small and centre around Jesus (often meeting in homes, work or leisure environments like cafes)

SimpleChurches practice ‘Bring+Share;’ each person brings food, a thought or finances releasing the priesthood of all believers

Mission Communities (MC’s)

Mission Communties are made up of 2 or more SimpleChurches in a neighbourhood

Tribes (Networks)

Tribes connect people with similar Passions (for example: the arts) and have a shared identity/vision and values or mission (a cultural people group)

There are also equipping networks operating in APEPT/5-fold ministries (apostolic networks, prophetic networks etc)
